Common capacity ranges from 1 to 3 quarts (approx. 1-3 liters). The main body material can be enameled cast iron (good heat retention), ceramic (aesthetic), or stainless steel (easy cleaning). Heating methods include tea lights, liquid fuel burners, or detachable electric heating bases.
Primarily used for making Swiss cheese fondue, raclette, or as a party centerpiece for serving melted dips like Cheddar or blue cheese sauce. Suitable for social dining scenarios such as family gatherings and parties, adding interactive fun to meals.
