This suspension bridge’s most notable feature is its 60% glass deck, made of 12mm tempered laminated glass with a 10mm interlayer, which can withstand a load of 10 kN per square meter, ensuring safety even under concentrated foot traffic. The glass is treated with anti-reflective and anti-slip coatings, providing clear views while preventing slips in rainy conditions. The high-strength carbon steel main cables and tower structures offer stable support, with epoxy zinc-rich coating providing effective anti-corrosion protection in high-altitude and humid canyon environments. The two observation platforms, each 8 meters wide, extend from the main deck, providing visitors with dedicated spaces to take photos and enjoy panoramic views without obstructing pedestrian flow. The bridge also incorporates audio guide devices, providing visitors with information about the canyon’s geological features and local history. Additionally, the safety barriers are made of transparent acrylic panels, maintaining unobstructed views while preventing falls.
The Scenic Canyon Foot Suspension Bridge has a main span length of 150 meters, with a total length of 210 meters including approach spans. The deck width is 3 meters, with 1.8 meters of tempered laminated glass and 1.2 meters of anti-slip steel grating. Each glass panel measures 2m×1m, with a total of 135 panels installed on the main span. The main cables are made of high-strength carbon steel, with a diameter of 150mm, ensuring a maximum load capacity of 200 persons simultaneously. The bridge is engineered to resist grade 10 strong winds, with a seismic resistance rating of grade 6, meeting international tourist facility safety standards. The epoxy zinc-rich coating on steel components has a thickness of 150μm, providing protection against high-altitude ultraviolet radiation and humid air. The two observation platforms are located at 1/3 and 2/3 of the main span, each extending 4 meters outward from the deck. The safety barriers are 1.9 meters high, made of 10mm thick transparent acrylic panels, which do not block the view of the canyon below. The bridge’s overall weight is 95 metric tons, with tower heights of 28 meters, suitable for canyon depths of up to 200 meters.
This suspension bridge is primarily used in canyon scenic areas, such as limestone canyons, mountain gorges, and river valleys, where it becomes a signature attraction for tourists seeking adventurous experiences. It is also suitable for mountainous national parks and forest reserves, providing visitors with a unique perspective to appreciate natural landscapes. In high-altitude scenic areas, the bridge adapts to thin air and strong winds, ensuring safe passage for tourists. Additionally, it can be installed in urban cliff parks, offering city dwellers a close-up view of natural rock formations and river valleys. The bridge’s glass deck makes it ideal for social media marketing, as visitors are likely to share photos and videos, increasing the scenic area’s online exposure and attracting more tourists. It also supports educational activities, such as geological tours, where students can observe canyon formations through the glass deck.
