The blade is forged from high-strength 420J2 stainless steel, offering excellent toughness and bending resistance to withstand the significant torque during oyster opening. The classic Boston-style blunt tip is thick and rounded, specifically designed to be inserted into the oyster's hinge at the back for prying, avoiding piercing the soft meat.A large, integrated metal hand guard at the blade base effectively prevents the hand from slipping forward onto the blade or the shell's sharp edge during forceful application. The handle is fully overmolded with Santoprene high-performance rubber, providing an extremely secure grip even when covered in seawater and shellfish mucus, while also absorbing vibration. The design allows for precise control.

Total knife length is 18 cm,with a working blade head length of 7.5 cm.The blade is up to 4.5 mm thick at its strongest point, ensuring rigidity. The blade head width is moderate for insertion into oyster seams of varying sizes. The full-overmold rubber handle is approximately 10 cm long, with a diameter suited for adult hands and features a non-slip texture. The surface is finely polished and passivated for enhanced corrosion resistance in seawater.

Specifically designed for opening fresh oysters.Standard procedure:secure the oyster in a thick towel, locate the seam at the narrower back end, insert the blunt tip, gently twist to pry the shell open, then slide the blade along the inside of the top shell to sever the adductor muscle. Also suitable for opening clams, mussels, and other bivalves.
