Extremely high mechanical strength, impact toughness, and heat resistance to withstand the high pressure and power from large rail grinders or grinding trains. Special bond formulations ensure it does not fail or wear excessively under the恶劣 conditions of dry or minimal-water-cooled grinding. Very high grinding efficiency.

Usually large diameter (200-300mm) straight or cup wheels. Abrasive is typically high-performance, high-toughness brown aluminum oxide or sintered alumina. Very coarse grits (16-30). Very hard grades (R to V) to resist severe rail abrasion. Safe operating speeds can reach 63-80 meters per second.
A core maintenance consumable for railway track departments. Used to repair periodic corrugation on the rail head; remove side lip (gauge corner); grind flash-butt or thermite welds flush with the parent rail; perform preventive grinding to optimize wheel-rail contact and prevent defect initiation.
