Its greatest advantage is the flat sides, which facilitate the installation and fixing of accessories or direct embedding into walls as columns. The production process is relatively simple (vertical casting), but its wind load resistance and isotropy are inferior to those of circular poles.

It is not a product under the GB/T 4623 standard; most follow enterprise standards or conventional practices. Made of ordinary concrete and plain round steel bars, its four corners are usually chamfered to avoid collisions. Due to its non-standard nature, its mechanical performance needs to be calculated based on specific reinforcement configurations.

Primarily used in the construction field, such as wall columns, fence posts, and construction hoarding supports. In agriculture, it serves as the frame for vegetable greenhouses and farm fences. In the power sector, it is only used as short poles for ultra-low-voltage household connections. It is also commonly used in temporary and auxiliary support scenarios.
